Fellow at Dell EMC
Radia Perlman is a Fellow at Dell EMC. Her innovations in routing protocol design made network routing more robust, more scalable, and more easily and safely configurable. She also showed how to make networks resilient to Byzantine failures. Other security-related contributions include assured time-based expiration of data from a cloud, and improved usability and security of authentication.
She is the author of the textbook “Interconnections” and coauthor of the textbook “Network Security”. She has been recognized with many industry honors including induction into the National Academy of Engineering, the Inventor Hall of Fame, The Internet Hall of Fame, and lifetime achievement awards from Usenix and SIGCOMM. She holds over 100 patents and has a PhD in computer science from MIT.
