John Proctor is Director of Cyber Resilience for CGI, the 32,000 person Canadian company’s national cyber security practice. John’s team provides Consultant Enterprise Security Services, Enterprise Security Health Checks, Vulnerability Assessments and Penetration Tests, Cyber Forensics, Threat and Risk Assessments, Privacy Impact Assessments and managed security services. The team is based at CGI’s secure facility in Ottawa and supports all of CGI’s business units and clients, in Canada and abroad. John has provided security services to a number of Canada’s major financial institutions, Federal, Provincial and Municipal government departments and Canadian corporations as well as analysis services to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
John had 22 years’ experience in the British and Canadian forces before joining the private sector. He is a qualified Intelligence Officer, HUMINT operator, Hostage/Crisis Negotiator, has served as aircrew flying helicopters in the Royal Navy, and spent 6 years working with Canadian Special Forces. Uniquely he uses his technical background mixed with his individual and organizational behaviour expertise to support the people pillar in cyber security.
John has training and certifications in such subjects as Reintegration Team Responsibilities, Personnel Recovery Debriefer, Personnel Recovery for Commanders and Staff, Hostage/Crisis negotiator, Certified Behavioral Consultant, Advanced Behavioral Consultant, Resistance to Interrogation Instructor, Legal Mediation, Certificate in Advanced Conflict Resolution, Post graduate certificate, project Management, and a post-graduate, computer architecture and operating systems.
