Presently, managers and technical staff rely on a traditional reactive incident response process that starts when a security breach is identified – it allows the attacker to “seize the initiative”. DigitalDefence will present the Agile Incident Management (AIM) methodology, which stresses proactive planning in combination with a rapid and effective response to an attack. Using Canadian-specific case studies, we will demonstrate how this methodology not only reduces the opportunity for attack, but minimizes the costs and recovery efforts needed to recover. Cutting edge open-source and commercial tools that facilitate the AIM methodology will also be demonstrated. Attendees will leave this session with the knowledge of how to effectively respond to complex data breaches in the most cost-effective way possible.
