When we founded SecTor, we did it because we were regular attendees of Black Hat, Defcon and several other US based events and we were frustrated that Canada had nothing of the sort. We started SecTor both to bring the best and most important security researchers from around the world to Canada, and to showcase Canadian talent and perspective. Neither of us had a background in event planning. We did this for the community, with the help and support of the community.
Today we are very excited to be able to announce that our ability to deliver against this mission just got even better. Today we can share with you that we are now part of the Black Hat portfolio, which is one of the pre-eminent brands in our market, internationally and one of the events that has most inspired us over the years. As a brand and as individuals, we’re becoming part of the team and family behind Black Hat Las Vegas, London and Singapore. The plan is to keep doing what we’ve always done – delivering the best quality content to Canada’s IT security community.
While the name and focus of the show will remain the same, we’re confident SecTor can go even further and deliver even more in the coming years by linking up with Black Hat’s expertise, resources and capabilities, starting with adding some Black Hat trainings next year. As ever we will keep you updated with all the latest offerings and look forward to 2020 and beyond!
